About TimeCardCalc

Simple, free tools for working out hours and pay.

TimeCardCalc.app is a set of free calculators for people who track their hours: a time card calculator, a timesheet calculator, an overtime calculator, a minutes to decimal converter, an hours calculator and a printable timesheet. They run in your browser, you do not need an account, and what you type is not sent to us.

Who runs this site

TimeCardCalc.app is published by Takreparation Skåne AB, Sparvgränd 6, 262 41 Ängelholm, Sweden (Org.-Nr 556988-5931). You can reach us at info@timecardcalc.app.

How the results are calculated

  • Hours for a day = end time − start time − unpaid break. If the end time is earlier than the start time, the shift is treated as running past midnight (24 hours are added).
  • Decimal hours = minutes ÷ 60, rounded to two decimals. 38 hours 15 minutes is 38.25.
  • Overtime is figured for each workweek on its own. By default hours over 40 in a week are paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate, which follows the federal rule described by the U.S. Department of Labor (Fact Sheet #23). You can change the limit and the multiplier.
  • Pay = regular hours × rate + overtime hours × rate × multiplier, rounded to the nearest cent.
  • No tax on overtime: the estimate follows the IRS description and the 2025 Schedule 1-A formula, with the sources shown on that page.

What these tools are not

Results are estimates for general information. They are not legal, payroll or tax advice, and they do not include state overtime laws, union agreements or employer rules. Your employer, payroll provider or a tax professional has the final say.
